E-sign process for your non-face-to-face transactions

With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting every aspect of our lives, we understand that business cannot operate as usual. That’s why we’ve introduced NEW electronic signature options to help you facilitate non-face-to-face transactions.

These new signature options:
  • Apply to sales of registered investment products, such as RSP, RRIF, LIRA, LIF, and TFSA, for new and current clients.
  • Apply to sales of non-registered investment products for existing clients.
  • Abide by corporate policies and procedures regarding electronic signatures.
  • Help you avoid delays in processing transactions.
  • Allow you to process unlimited deposits and withdrawals up to $25,000 (with a signed Limited Trading Authorization).

If you do not have an electronic signature software

2. Complete the necessary forms
  • New Applications Forms. Make sure you fill out the section "Agent’s Declaration" on the new applications for a RRSP, LIRA, TFSA, RRIF or LIF for the ID verification of your client. For all new applications for non-registered accounts for non-existing client, follow the Anti-Money Laundering Guidelines on ID verifications.
  • Financial Transactions Request
  • Non-Financial Transaction Request
  • Any other required documents to complete the transaction (ex: T2033)
3. Provide the email address of each person who needs to sign the forms. Assumption Life will use the OneSpan Application to send out the documents requesting a signature.
4. Send the completed documents that require an electronic signature to investments.retirement@assumption.ca so we can initiate the electronic signature with you, your client and any other signatory.

You will receive a notification once all the required documents are completed and all necessary signatures have been received. Assumption Life will then automatically process the transaction.

We currently accept Adobe Sign and SignNow for electronic signature software. If you want to use a different electronic signature application, please contact us at investments.retirement@assumption.ca to confirm that your application will be accepted.

Should you choose to use an electronic signature application, you must also submit the "Audit Report" of the electronic signature, along with all other documents.
If you want to use Photo Submission
Your client also has the option to print their completed documents, sign them, and take a picture of them, which you would then send to us by email.

Valid Identification:
For all registered or non-registered transactions submitted, your client must provide valid identification. For a list of acceptable methods to obtain valid identification, please contact our Admin Departments.
