Born in Dalhousie, N. B., Jacques Valotaire has extensive experience in the insurance industry. A member of the Board of Directors of Assumption Life for the past six years, Mr. Valotaire is also member of the Board of Directors of SCM insurance services and a member of the independent review committees of National Bank Funds and Global Diversified Investment Grade Income Trust.
A Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant, Mr. Valotaire holds bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from Université Laval and has participated in the Wharton School Advanced Executive Education Program.
Prior to becoming fully engaged as a Corporate Director, Jacques Valotaire was Executive Vice President of ING Canada (now Intact Financial Corporation), where he held various senior management positions for more than 15 years.
Founded in 1903, Assumption Life offers a full range of products, including life and critical illness insurance, group insurance, investment and retirement solutions, and mortgage loans. It is currently active in all Canadian provinces and territories. The Company’s main office is in Moncton, New Brunswick.
