Moncton, NB, September 30, 2023 - The Assumption Life Foundation is proud to announce the creation of a new $5,000 post-secondary scholarship to support students from First Nations communities, residing in New-Brunswick. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of Assumption Life and its Foundation to support Indigenous communities, in response to the Truth and Reconciliation call to action.
The creation of this scholarship reflects Assumption Life's 120-year commitment to education as a means of building a better future for generations to come. "We believe that education is a fundamental pillar of individual and collective development, and we are committed to providing equitable opportunities for all, especially those who have been historically under-represented," says Réjean Boudreau, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Assumption Life Foundation.
The Assumption Life Foundation Post-Secondary Scholarship is designed to provide financial support to Indigenous students, residing in New-Brunswick, in the pursuit of their academic dreams. It can be used to cover tuition fees, books and supplies and other expenses related to higher education.
On this Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the Assumption Life Foundation emphasizes its commitment to supporting Indigenous communities by investing in the education of their members. "We hope this scholarship will help Indigenous students realize their full academic potential and play an active role in building a better future for all," says Réjean Boudreau.
The Assumption Life Foundation post-secondary scholarship for students from First Nations communities, and residing in New Brunswick, will be available starting in the 2024-2025 academic year. The application process will open, and details on how to apply will be available, by the end of this year, on www.assumption.ca.
